Alcova Reservoir. Alcova, Wyoming
Last weekend finally had a chance to meet up with my good friend Bill Mixer for a little time on the ice. We met a friend of his out at Alcova Reservoir, in Alcova Wyoming (central Wyoming. part of the North Platte river drainage) The weather was awesome. 40's and no wind (those of you that have been to Wyoming understand how rare "no wind" is) We got set up and landed a bunch of nice football sized rainbows all on minnows. It was cool for me because here in Wyoming there arent many lakes you can use live baitfish on. On the ones that do allow it, the minnows must be native to that actual drainage and must be sold to you by someone that can verify as such. When purchasing my bait i was given a slip of paper to carry certifying they were from this specific drainage (if the warden was to check me) Between the 3 of us we landed a bunch of nice bows ranging from 11"-17" It was one of those days that i didnt want to leave when the end of the day came. Tight Lines, Chris
